There are a handful of Miniature Dachshund breeders in MT, but
not all are like Huckleberry Hound. We have been breeding our pets for 4 years and we have enjoyed all of it. Like many breeders,
our dogs are AKC registered, but unlike many breeders we researched the genetics behind all the colors and patterns and chose
our dogs from all over America to get exactly what we were wanting. Aside from wire-hairs and creams, we can produce practically
any color or pattern in smooth or long
hair* We're very committed to our dogs and to producing healthy, good quality pups for our families to bring home. We
love our dogs and are very proud of them; we are not a typical 'kennel' our dogs live with
us.
We demand this same commitment and love from our potential families and that is why we
have turned people away in the past and will do in the future as necessary. So with that background, what else makes
a Huck-A-Pup special? We have a unique way of how our pups are chosen by families, it's not first pick or first check.
It is based on pre-approved families who contact us about a pup they are looking at, positive it is the pup of their dreams.
Moriah makes it a point to try to fit the right pup with the right family with every litter, that's why each pup in a
litter usually has a family already by the time he/she is 3 days old.
With your Huck-A-Pup comes a lifetime
of help and advice from us. We work with each family on a pick up date that would be best for both; we do not pick a date
and say 'Come pick up your pup!' The first few days are vital for bonding and setting boundaries, so we can have the
pup go a little sooner or keep him/her a few days longer if best. We work with pick up places to help with the drives families
have to make.
Each pup comes with a Puppy Packet filled with lots of tricks, helpful hints, training tactics, and
basic information on Dachshunds. You do have the option of registering your pup with AKC as a pet once we receive the proof
of alteration from your vet. We worm and give our pups their initial vaccines, these records are put in your packet, but we
also have our vet give them an official 6 week check up just to be sure there is nothing we missed. We give out sample
foods and coupons when we have them available; always some of the food we have been feeding them for easier stomach transition
to the family's choice of food. Plus a small carrier with a piece of litter-scented blanket for smoother transfer into
your home. We do call pups by a name chosen by the family, start crate training and introduction to piddle pads. We
play with the pups a lot and whenever we have someone over they are given attention. So they are very well socialized and
ready to join your home and family. On top of it all, we never want one of our Huck-A-Pups to end up where they should not
be, so if situations change and you can no longer care for your Huck-A-Pup (young or old) we will take him/her back!
We are always an e-mail, phone call, or Facebook message away whenever you need us!!
So do you think a Huck-A-Pup is right for your family?
